Back in the 1960s, supercars were aluminum shells, with supermodel curves, organic shapes that looked as if they had been sculpted from marble. However, in Italy, there was a new generation of designers working tirelessly on radical new ideas that seemed to have come straight out of the future. Thus began the era of the otherworldly concept cars of the 70s, which were basically wedges on wheels, all angles and edges with skins stretched between them. Rooftops were lowered, you almost sat on the floor, windshields and hoods shared the same level. Always with a V12 beast that felt like it was roaring just behind your head. Many of these concepts have been forgotten by most people, but one became the poster on the wall of every boy in the 1980s. It's hard to underestimate the impact these cars had on popular culture, not only in the realm of car aesthetics but also in science fiction films, fighter jets, speedboats, and many other recognizable forms in our lives. The UFO is our celebration of dreaming big and radical change.
