The famous detective Matthew Gatiadis, a very clever cat with a thick black and white fur coat, and his close friend Beatrice Gourmet travel to Scotland to spend Christmas in the Gaterville tower.
Legend has it that the medieval tower is haunted. And indeed, the kind hostess Lady Mary Gaterville begins to see the cursed ghosts of her ancestors threatening her: the knight Richard Gaterville wields a sword ready to strike, and his unfortunate wife, Alice, appears as a white apparition, wearing a long wedding dress.
