In the series "If I Were to Read Poets of the '30s", Alexis Kyritsopoulos is inspired by the verses of the great poets of the '30s and writes fairy tales against the backdrop of his unique images.
"Like the caique passing between the tall waves while the passenger ship is being tossed about - I moved between the poems and drew the line of optimism that I believe exists. I believe I did not betray the poetry of George Seferis - with this maneuver between the stanzas - my intention is to send you to the poems to find all their depth and seriousness there. I did not choose poems. Someone else would have chosen more aptly. I painted the images that shone between the poems and found my own - their own - path in the light." A.K.
